Trident Number 1: “I have owned Trident No 1 for 15 years, she has been sailed every season, and she is a superb ‘racer’, winning most of the races in her class from where she is berthed in Lower Halstow, on the North Kent coast. She has also sailed up the east coast and into the Port of London, three of us, all men, have slept on her for five days. She is now ashore for the winter.” [More pictures]

Nighean Mara No 214 REDUCED PRICE £3,000
Triple keel with Yanmar 1GM10 diesel engine, Currently on the hard standing at Brough, East Yorkshire. Price £3000. I have thoroughly enjoyed sailing her and have spent many enjoyable hours performing maintenance and upgrades to keep her up-to-date and ship shape. The only reason for this reluctant sale is that I had a too-good-to-refuse offer on a larger yacht.
Represents great value for money, and now is the perfect time to purchase, ready for the new season and hopefully better weather. With her triple keel, she is ideal for use on a drying out mooring. She has a draft of just 2ft 6″, so exploring the shallow creeks of the east coast poses no problems at all. The engine was serviced last summer, as it is each year, and has proved faultlessly reliable during my ownership. The exhaust elbow was recently changed as a precaution. There is a tachometer fitted and the engine compartment is fully lined with sound deadening material. Electric automatic bilge pump fitted.
The main sail was replaced in 2009 at a cost of £800 and the furling jib’s UV strip was last replaced in 2014. Both are in fantastic condition.
Plastimo twin hob and grill and stainless steel sink with pressurised galley pump.
In between the two cabins is a manual Jabsco sea toilet, as well as hanging clothes storage. New upholstery for the interior, along with blackout blinds. Included are fenders and warps, a boat hook, a spray hood and sail cover both in serviceable condition.
New dodgers, bench cushions, and aft hatches have been fitted. There is a manual bilge pump fitted for the aft lockers, one of which contains the Calor gas bottle. The tiller is wooden and kept in a cover. An anchor with marked chain is fitted, along with a Perspex washboard with fabric privacy cover. Plastic fresh water tank.
A boarding ladder; horseshoe lifebuoy with light. NASA depth, wind and speed instruments. Navigation lights (stern, tri-colour, steaming, anchor, bow). Twin batteries (engine and leisure). Shore power cable. Standard Horizon Eclipse DSC+ VHF radio, handheld/mountable compass, fire blanket, fire extinguisher.
She has been out of the water for a year, and is in need of a good jet wash which is annoying as the hull was polished when she came out. Internally, the Headlining is falling down and is in need of replacement. The rudder is currently removed, as new bushes were fitted. This needs to be refitted, not a difficult job. Also she needs antifoul applying – a tin of which is supplied. Overall, she is a fantastic yacht, in great condition for her age and with some TLC will be a fantastic boat.
