Triple keeler with Yanmar 1GM10 diesel engine, lying Brough, East Yorkshire. Price £3650. I have thoroughly enjoyed sailing her and have spent many enjoyable hours performing maintenance and upgrades to keep her up-to-date and ship shape. The only reason for this reluctant sale is that I had a too-good-to-refuse offer on a larger yacht.
Nighean Mara is ready to sail and represents great value for money, and now is the perfect time to purchase, ready for the new season and hopefully better weather. With her triple keel, she is ideal for use on a drying out mooring. She has a draft of just 2ft 6″, so exploring the shallow creeks of the east coast poses no problems at all.
Hull freshly antifouled and polished at the end of last season.
The engine has just been serviced, as it is each year, and has proved faultlessly reliable during my ownership. The exhaust elbow was recently changed as a precaution. There is a tachometer fitted and the engine compartment is fully lined with sound deadening material. Electric automatic bilge pump fitted.
The main sail was replaced in 2009 at a cost of £800 and the furling jib’s UV strip was last replaced in 2014. Both are in fantastic condition.
There is a fixed double V berth in the forecabin which can comfortably sleep two adults. In the main cabin are two benches that provide seating and dining for four around a table.
The benches also provide a further two bunks. Plastimo twin hob and grill and stainless steel sink with pressurised galley pump.
In between the two cabins is a manual Jabsco sea toilet, as well as hanging clothes storage. New upholstery for the interior, along with blackout blinds. Included are fenders and warps, a boat hook, a spray hood and sail cover both in serviceable condition.
New dodgers, bench cushions, and aft hatches have been fitted. There is a manual bilge pump fitted for the aft lockers, one of which contains the Calor gas bottle.The tiller is wooden and kept in a cover. An anchor with marked chain is fitted, along with a Perspex washboard with fabric privacy cover.Plastic fresh water tank, located in the port under seat locker.

Triple keel version so is able to creep up shallow creeks and take the ground if drying out. 2 anchors with loads of chain and warp. Automatic bilge pump. Just needs a few menial jobs doing before launching for the season.
These include a new cutlass bearing in the P bracket, refitting of fresh water
storage container (pipework already in situ) new anodes and antifoul. It pains me to have to put Karizma up for sale but sadly distance and a change of circumstances and as such a lack of time mean I am unable to dedicate the attention that she deserves. She is for sale at £3,000 but I am open to offers near that. She is currently in a yard in Millbrook, Cornwall, just over the Tamar.
